We are all aging, but some people are fighting it everyday by living their best lives. What I am talking about is exercise and recovery. In the Sea to Sky Corridor today driving to work; I saw people going to do winter sports in Whistler; skiing, snow boarding, snowmobiling and Nordic sports. As I drove around Squamish this morning I saw; road bikers, mnt. bikers, golfing and dog running. My point is that before and after these activities you can improve them by taking a sauna, spa or cold plunge. Recovery is one of the biggest overlooked part of the average persons exercise routine. At the Splash we work with you and your budget to get the right product to complete your wellness routine. Come see us, we have price points that will work just about everyone's budget. #recovery,#saunas,#hottubs,#SeatoSky,#excercise,#mountainbikingsquamish,#golf,#skiing,#whistler

🌿 Embracing Mid-Week Golf for Optimal Wellbeing 🏌️♀️🌞I wanted to share a video that reminded me of the profound benefits of spending time on the golf course, especially mid-week. I had the pleasure of playing a round with my friend Oli during COVID, and the benefits he mentioned back then has not diminished since the end of lockdown. In fact, I'd argue that it's more important now than ever before, as people return to old ways of working instead of exploring new and better ones! 🌟🎥 Here's the link to watch the video: https://lnkd.in/gGUFgfm5How are you prioritising your mental and physical wellbeing? Ever thought of playing a mid-week round of golf (...or something else that gets you active and out of the office)? I encourage you all to share your experiences and insights regarding an activity that has made a positive impact on your wellbeing. 🏌️♂️⛳️#MidWeekGolf #Wellbeing #MentalHealth #PhysicalFitness

Importance of check-ups before participating in winter sportsPrevent common knee injuries in most winter sportsAre you planning to escape to colder climates this winter for your favourite sports activity? Here are some tips to keep your knees from wobbling and getting hurt.1. Some ligament injuries may occur while skiing, after all, it is a popular winter activity.2. Before participating, do warm-ups to keep the strength stable for elbows and knees before hitting the icy slopes.3. Avoid 0 to 100 stretches. Go Slow. Warming up is not a marathon. Knee injuries take place before hitting the slopes!4. Wear protective gear, goggles, wrist guards, helmets and knee & elbow guards. July 3 is #AmericanRedneckDay. Bet y'all didn't know this! 😁 --- By the way, the term "y'all" might not be as Southern as you think. There's evidence that the word has been around since 1631, and it originated in England. Y'all's first known appearance was in William Lisle’s The Faire Æthiopian, in which he wrote, "and this y’all know is true." --- Here is some Redneck Slang (just for fun, of course):• gosh dang/darn/dern – a Southern version of a well-known expletive• fixin' to - getting ready/preparing to, as in, "I'm fixin' to go to the Wal-Mart. Do y'all need anything?"• ornery - difficult to deal with; stubborn; finicky• reckon - suppose; guess, as in, "I reckon we'll see you at the reunion."• snug as a bug (in a rug) - very comfortable• sugar - affection, as in, "Come here and give me some sugar."• sweet talk - to speak nicely, usually in order to get something you want• tore up - broken/destroyed, as in, "I came home to find the curtains all tore up," or, "My knee has been tore up since that skiing accident back in '93."• uppity - snobby• used to could - used to be able to, as in, "I can't do a cartwheel any more, but I used to could."• y'all - contraction of you + all-----#rednecks #americanenglish #southernliving #celebratelife #mindfulliving #mondayvibes #keeplearning

I love skiing, even though some red slopes are a challenge for me and the pleasure lies in arriving back at the bottom in one piece. The indescribable beauty of nature, having to be in the moment and putting all your concentration into your movements are very relaxing and help you to recharge your batteries. Back from the ski vacations (and in one piece), well rested and looking forward to new challenges. #worklifebalance#tem#Health#womenPraxis für traditionelle europäische Pflanzenmedizin

‘Canotaggio’ in Rome on the Tiber: sweaty, fabulous, team bliss. I started two months ago and make so many mistakes, but feel ‘invincibile e forte!’ So much to remember: legs, torso, arms - twist the oars to be ready as you bend your knees - stretch out, sit up straight, lean back, breathe - timing! Learning to row in Italian, I scratch my fingers to shreds or blister up from holding the oars wrong or too hard, but I can feel the muscles building up - and slowly I am starting to get it (third in red). Such a privilege, reenergising and humbling to once again be an absolute beginner - in boats of two, four or eight - young coaches yelling or pushing us hard. I am relatively sporty, but usually do sports I know or am comfortable with (skiing, hiking, SUP). If you can, do start something new or demanding - truly the best experience - as ever, team mates and coaches can be tough, but also fun and supportive. Happy rowing & team work all! Best thing about rowing in Rome? As i caffé / bars open at 7 am and the morning cappuccino / caffé e cornetto is like a religion, we never start before 7.30 am! Rowing tips always helpful.#team #training #building #sports #learning #experience #teamwork #rowing #CircoloTevereRemo #canotaggio #tevere #equipe #romeitaly #rome

*On unexpected presents, trying, failing, but still winning* Yesterday in Geneva, I finished the 10km race in 58min 59 secs. Very slow for my usual standards (was hoping for less than 55 mins). Why was I slow? Who knows? I ran about 80km last month in training doing an optimal mix of long runs, short runs, interval training: I did gym too twice or so per week. So I was well prepared. Still during the run yesterday, at about the 6km mark, after quite a climb, I felt like the air had been popped out of me. I just did not have energy. The moral of the story? I gritted my teeth and kept running, spurred on by the crowd who were so sweet. I am still happy I finished and still in a reasonably respectable time. Sometimes we don't get what we want, even if well prepared and if we put in all the effort. We have good days and bad days. I am just happy to be fit and healthy. I am sure I will still try break 55 mins sometime soon (in my 20s I could manage about 45 mins--but I have not managed to break 55mins since I have been in my 40s). What is most important is to try, stay fit, keep healthy. That is the goal; that is the ultimate mission. And if a small accolade follows in a competitive event, all the better--it is an unexpected present. #GeneveMarathon
