July 4 will be here before we know it! From fireworks to parades, here's a round up of events across Summit County celebrating our nation's Independence Day. Note this is not an exhaustive list.

June 29

Green FreedomFest: Noon to 11 p.m. June 29 at Boettler Park, 5300 Massillon Road, Green. A full day of family fun activities, games, local food vendors, live music, skydivers, and fireworks. Parking and admission are free. https://www.cityofgreen.org/572/FreedomFest.

June 30

Hudson:Fireworks Celebration, Barlow Farm Park, 1965 Barlow Road. The fireworks begin at dusk.Rain date is July 7. Parking is available at JoAnn Stores with shuttle service to Barlow Farm Park. Shuttle service begins at 7 p.m. Limited Public Parking at Oak Grove Park, 2200 Barlow Road. Handicapped parking/viewing is available at Wood Hollow Park.

July 2-6

Orrville: Parade at 7 p.m. July 2. Carnival midway with rides, games and food at Orr Park July 2-6. Fire in the Sky Fast Pitch Softball Tournament, girls 14 or younger, July 3-6. Fireworks about 10:15 p.m. July 6. www.facebook.com/OrrvilleFirefightersAssociation.

July 3-6

Akron:Rib, White and Blue Festival. Free admission in downtown Akron. Events are planned for 11 a.m.-11 p.m. at Lock 3 park, and will feature national and local rib vendors competing for best ribs, best sauce and people's choice award. Food includes ribs, pulled pork, chicken, corn and a variety of fair food. No outside food is permitted, except drinks purchased from downtown bars included in thedesignated outdoor refreshment area.

All City Decks are FREE after 6 p.m. on Wednesday. All Day Thursday, July 4th. After 6 p.m. on Friday, July 5 through Sunday. Motorcycle Parking is located on Quaker St., between W. Bowery and Ash St. Enter by way of RT 59.

July 3

Cuyahoga Falls: Salute to America at Blossom Music Center, 1145 W. Steels Corners Road, Cuyahoga Falls. Enjoy Broadway favorites, patriotic melodies and, of course, fireworks when the Blossom Festival Band takes the stage for this annual Fourth of July celebration. The show starts at 8 p.m.$25 to $105,clevelandorchestra.com.

Brunswick:Fireworks, 9:15-10 p.m. Time listed is approximate. Fireworks will start at dusk atBrunswick Middle School Complex/Ball field, 1483 Pearl Rd, Brunswick.Rain date is July 5.

Hiram:July 3, 8 p.m., Community gathering with food vendors, Swifty the Clown and tour of the Medevac Helicopter. Fireworks on football field about 9:30 p.m.

Massillon:Independence Day Celebration & Fireworks, Duncan Plaza Amphitheater, 121 Lincoln Way E. La Flavour performs from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Fireworks at 9:45 p.m.

Medina: Fireworks Festival at Medina Recreation Center, 855 Weymouth Road, Medina. An electrifying evening filled with breathtaking fireworks, live music, and non-stop fun for the whole family. With live bands, foam pit, Baker Family Entertainment with a face painter, juggler, balloon artists, bounce houses and more.

Wadsworth:Independence Day Fireworks and Concert. 6 p.m. July 3 at 102 Main Street, Suite 20, Wadsworth. Independence Day Fireworks and Food Trucks Featuring Wadsworth Community Band. Rain date is July 6.

July 4

Alliance:Silver Park, 2930 S. Union Ave. Festival 5-9 p.m. free and open to the public, including food trucks and live music. Fireworks at dusk.

North Canton Jaycees Fireworks: Hoover High School, 525 7th St. NE, North Canton. Fireworks at Dusk.

Aurora:July 4th Fun Run, parade, festival and fireworks. Bicentennial Park, 115 E. Pioneer Trail. Fun Run registration 7-7:50 a.m. at Bicentennial Gazebo, 1-mile at 8 a.m. at corner of state Route 43/E. Pioneer, 5K/Masters at 8:30 a.m.; 11 a.m.The parade will start on SR 306 (Chillicothe Road), turn onto W. Pioneer Trail, and end at the Aurora High School Parking lot; Festival noon-3 p.m. at Kiwanis-Moore Park, 35 W. Pioneer Trail. food trucks and carnival food along with free entertainment & fun including inflatables, balloon art, face painting, character meet and greets andmore. Fireworks at dusk at Pioneer Trail ballfields. Rain date is July 5.

Fairlawn:Independence Day celebratio Food trucks, bands, fireworks. Fireworks at approximately 10 p.m. Food trucks and beer/seltzer trucks will begin serving at 5 p.m.

Fredericksburg:2024 Bicentennial Independence Day Paradelineup begins at North Hill at 9 a.m. Parade steps off at 11 a.m. Sports teams, bands, choirs, classic and sports cars, tractors, wagons and horse groups invited to participate. In celebration of this years Bicentennial there will be food trucks available on the Square starting at 9 a.m.

Hiram:9:30 a.m., Softball game on Jagow Field; 10:30 a.m., HPD Bike Rodeo at the Hiram Christian Church parking lot; noon parade beginning at the Hiram Post Office; 12:30 p.m., potluck & kids games at Hiram College's Gerstacker and Colton on Hiram Campus; 3:30 p.m. Kids Gams on the Gerstacker Green; 4 p.m., Hiram Community Band performance at Frohring Building; 5:30 p.m., pie contest, Gerstacker Arch; 7 p.m., Welcome from the Mayor, Announcement of Pie Contest winners and performance by The Garrettones onOliver Plaza on Hiram Campus.

Hudson:Four on the 4th, First & Main Green, 42 Village Way. 9-11:30 a.m. 4-mile road race/walk. Downtown Hudson on July 4th for a memorable road race experience. To register: https://www.westernreserveracing.com/races/four-on-the-4th/.

Medina:4 p.m. parade route begins at Medina High School parking lot, heads south on Spring Grove, then west on Liberty Street and around the Square. A barbershop quartet, classic lawn games, and a good old-fashioned pie-baking contest are all part of this New Franklin tradition. Food trucks, beer and wine, and inflatables and carnival games for the kids make it a can't-miss, fun-filled event for the whole family.

New Franklin: FREE Old Fashioned 4th of July Picnic: Noon to 4 p.m. at Tudor House, 655 Latham Lane., New Franklin.

The City of Stow July 4 Parade: Firecracker Run, 7:30 a.m., Holy Family Church, 3179 Kent Road, 4-Mile & 2-Mile Fun Run. 4-Mile: $35 pre-registration; $40 day of race. 2-Mile Fun Run: $25 pre-registration; $30 day of race.10 a.m. July 4. “A Century of Stories: Honoring our Past, Inspiring Our Future”Fourth of July Parade will travel down Kent Road, starting at the Stow Community Shopping Plaza parking lot and ending just past Holy Family Church. Additional activities are planned for the week, including a Concert on the Green, the Stow Paddle Battle Pickleball Tournament, a Pancake Breakfast, and the traditional Firecracker Run. Twinsburg:An “R-EAGLE” Celebration 2-4 p.m. July 4 at Liberty Park Nature Center, 9999 Liberty Road., Twinsburg. Enjoy hands-on activities inside, take a self-guided hike and make your own s'more over a campfire (while supplies last).

Valley City:Parade, car show, music & fireworks. Parade steps off at 11 a.m. Parade steps off. 303 to W. River to Maple ending at Mill Stream Park where all activities will take place. 11:45 a.m. car show at Mill Stream Park. Entertainment at 7 p.m. Fireworks at dusk.

Wooster:Fireworks and Fireball Celebration, 5-10:30 p.m., corner of Burbank Road and Oldman Road. Food and family entertainment prior to the fireworks at 10 p.m. North of the Kinney Building on Burbank Road between Highland and Oldman Road at the soccer complex.

July 6

Portage Lakes:The annual fireworks will be shot from the state park at 10 p.m. The rain date is July 7 for fireworks only. The Boat Parade will be held 1 p.m. To sign up or for more information contact Andy Shriner at 330-400-4470.
